METHODOLOGY
It comes in the form of ideas in our minds, prompting us for better methods, faster ways of doing things, and easier approaches. It can also come as a reminder, a feeling, an urge, a proposal or a suggestion. It manifests in the form of a Still Small Voice, a tiny and confident voice that speaks to us. During sleep, inspiration comes in the form of dreams, visions, trances and oracles.
One point that is special about inspiration is that everyday it becomes all the more convincing; and the necessity, all the more imperative. Usually, in whatever medium we receive it, inspiration is like a light in the midst of darkness, broadening our understanding and ennobling our actions.
According to the Bible, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”. And God warns, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” Hosiah 4:6. It is good to state and explain that truth is all embracing. The truth as mentioned by the Bible is not only religious truth; it includes scientific truth, economic truth, geographical truth, chemical truth, etc. Our major limitation is that when we talk about truth in the Bible context, we tend to forget these other types of truth.
We send text message from one handset to another, and as well receive reply. Likewise, the human mind functions like a handset, radio station or television studio. It can generate and transmit thought waves to distant places and things, and also receive feedback from them. In this way, communication is ensured.
The human minds communicate with the God Mind. We send our thoughts to God. The thoughts bear our desires, aims, aspirations, prayers, problems and expectations. That is why the prayers of the Saints are said to ascend to the throne of God, like an incense offering, which rises upwards. Our mind is like an open book before God.
God replies by sending inspiration: spiritual light for enlightenment, which embodies ideas, solutions, counsel (advice), knowledge and empowerment.
